This Privacy Policy explains how the FretPulse Engine (the "Service") collects, uses, and shares information, alongside the Terms of Service governing your use of the Service. The Service is operated by ResonantCore ("Company", "we", "us"). Contact: support@fretpulse-engine.com.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: email address, password hash, role, and account creation date.
- Uploaded content: audio files you upload and associated metadata (filename, size, duration, and any embedded tags such as artist or track name).
- Derived artifacts: stems, waveforms, spectrograms, MIDI files, generated guitar tablature, and tablature exports (PDF, MusicXML, PNG, SVG, JSON), and other outputs generated from your uploads.
- Usage and technical data: logs and telemetry such as timestamps, IP address, device and browser information, and error reports, when enabled.
- Cookies: authentication cookies and related session data used to keep you signed in.
We do not use audio content for biometric identification. Do not upload sensitive personal data unless you have a lawful basis to do so.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
- Process uploads and generate derived artifacts.
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Monitor performance, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Communicate with you about your account or service updates.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process data under these bases:
- Contract: to provide the Service and manage your account.
- Consent: for processing the audio you upload.
- Legitimate interests: for security, fraud prevention, and service improvement.
4. Sharing of Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers that host infrastructure or provide analytics or monitoring — see Third-Party Notices for the specific operational providers and their roles.
- Legal authorities if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Data Retention
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the Service and as described in the Data Retention policy.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object or restrict certain processing.
EEA/UK users may also have the right to withdraw consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
California residents may have rights to know, delete, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

7. International Transfers
We process and store service data, uploads, generated artifacts, and attached storage volumes in Helsinki, Finland. If you are in the EEA/UK and data is transferred outside your region, we will use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us to request deletion.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly.
